We tweeted about this extensively earlier, but, in case (1) you happened upon our site via accidental Googling (the link to the pictures of Natalie Portman is in one of the earlier posts, FYI), or (2) you are one of the unwashed heathens who hasn't figured out the niceties of social networking, I wanted to mention this again:
As you might know, 1250 WSSP is holding their fourth-annual Toy Drive benefiting Children's Hospital of Wisconsin this week. Tomorrow, Marquette coach Buzz Williams is going to join Doug Russell and Mike Wickett on "The Doug and Mike Show" at 8:30 a.m., and he's promised to match up to $1000 of donations to Children's Hospital from Marquette fans.
I don't like to use this platform to shill, and I know we've had our differences with 'SSP in the past, but I spent a good part of this morning trying to brainstorm Christmas present ideas for my mom and mother-in-law and grandma, and, after cooking the noodle for twenty minutes, I decided: I don't need more stuff, and I don't want more stuff. So, if anybody who was planning to get me a Christmas present happens upon the site -- including but not limited to Admiral Ackbar, S.J. -- do me a favor and spend that money on these kids instead.
The link to the donation page is right here. If you make a donation, let Doug Russell know -- he's at @1250dougrussell on Twitter -- so he can keep track of the money Coach Buzz will match.
Neil: Play us off, would you?
