Monday Morning Coffee: April 5th
Tonight's the big match up - Butler vs Duke. 98% of the country will be rooting for Butler. Everybody hates Duke. At least I do. I hope you do, too.
It's Brewers Opening Day, so make sure to check out BrewCrewBall today. Our own Rubie Q wrote the series preview.
All the Bucks good mojo was lost in an instant on Saturday.
Butler will deliver a happy ending. (Not that kind, you pervs.)
Interesting thought on conference re-alignment:
It's not hard to imagine the non-BCS football schools from that league -- led by Villanova, Marquette and DePaul -- forming a Midwest basketball super-conference with schools like Dayton, Xavier, Temple, St. Louis and, yes, Butler.
So, anybody (not from Big Ten country) in favor of blowing up the Big East? I'm just tired of MU bouncing to a new conference every 5-10 years. Great Midwest, Conference USA, Big East ...
Anybody watch in-coming recruit Jamail Jones this weekend? He looked good. Really, really good.
Lazar Hayward hopefully helped his NBA stock with a solid performance at the All-Star game.
Huggins probably helped his reputation a little bit this weekend.
DePaul still doesn't have a head coach, mainly because they're DePaul.
A 5th grader out of Chicago got game by watching Marquette senior Maurice Acker.
St. John's has a new coach. Have hair gel, will travel. And a hot wife, with a tattoo on her left boobie.
Former MU coach Tod Kowalczyk bolted Green Bay for Toledo.
MU greats Travis Diener and Steve Novak are lobbying for Brian Wardle to get the UWGB job.
Scheyer from Duke? MU offered him a schollie when he was in 8th grade.
Coach Bob Huggins talked Al McGuire:
“I asked Al one time, ‘When did you know that you guys had arrived, that you were a force to be reckoned with, that you were going to be in every game no matter who you played or where you played at?’” Huggins said. “He told me, ‘When we were able to walk into any venue without fear.’”
Not a fan of LOST? Shame on you, but here are two spectacular reasons to watch.
Easter this year? It's a trap!
Lots and lots of Peeps.
Birthday party in Vegas, for your 12 year old son. Parenting 101 Failure.
It's the final countdown.
Bollywood Top 10? Yes, please.
Since Katie Perry was a popular choice last week, here's more of the happy fun bags.
Alison Brie and Diora Baird partied in Vegas this weekend. I hate my life.
As always, we close with a video. This week we go with The Heavy - How You Like Me Now? They're coming to Milwaukee twice in the coming months: May 22nd opening for Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and then Summerfest in July. This songs is the tits.
Make sure to check out the live version from Letterman.

Butler
Hasn’t been the favorite in the past 3 games (now 4), so they can do it again tonight, right?
Actually, Duke will probably set the nets on fire tonight like they did Saturday.
I root for the Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings and yes, the Lions.

Unlike West Vriginia
Butler can play some defense. If they can get Zoubek in some foul trouble, they might be able to beat Duke. Zoubek is the engine that drives that train.

West Virginia can play defense, too.
But when you don’t rebound and your opponent gets wide-open looks from three point range (and hits damn near every one), you’ve got a tall task.
I don’t think WVU played terribly. I think DOOK just played really well.

Dookies are just too tall
The two Plumlees are 6’10", Zoubek is 7’1", and Singler and Lance Thomas are both 6’8".
Gordon Hayward is 6’9" but plays guard and Matt Howard is 6’8" but fighting a concussion. Avery Jukes is the only other 6’8" guy who gets any playing time.
Duke has more size than MSU and will be able to hit the offensive boards and get second chance shots that just weren’t there for the Spartans.
I root for the Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings and yes, the Lions.

You're right, of course.
I’m trying to find a way to convince myself that Butler has a shot. It’s not easy. I think DOOK has to play very poorly for Butler to have a prayer.

Are we going to start a request for women we'd like to see in the morning cup o' joe.

Yep
You name the woman, and I’ll do my best to post a photo of the lovely lady.
