Syracuse Fans Comment on "National Marquette Day"

Exhibit A why the words "classy" and "humble" are rarely used to describe Syracuse fans:

Syracuse Looking Forward to Ruining National Marquette Day.

Here's to hoping we snap our losing streak with the Orange!

Tonight's Big East schedule

Pitt-Gtown on ESPN
Louisville-Villanova on ESPN2
Syracuse-St. John’s on ESPNU

All at 6pm Milwaukee time.

If the teams I listed second in each pairing win, then MU is in a 6 way tie for second place behind the last remaining undefeated team, Louisville.

SIGH

I can’t read my own typings. I meant Villanova, but it doesn’t matter who wins that game, since they’re both undefeated.

I love college hoops

And I love this league. That’s some prime college basketball viewing right there. I just wish they weren’t all on at the same time.

We all have to chase one rabbit. If we try to chase two rabbits we won't catch either of 'em.

Really want to beat those guys

Trash talking or no. I think they’re the only BE team we’ve yet to beat. Whatever the boys were doing to gear up for Monday’s game, I think they should do that again against Cuse. A 3-point barrage like that would come in real handy against that zone.

You're correct. Syracuse is the last remaining team we have yet to beat since joining the Big East

Tough game, but I think they’re beatable. They’re obviously a good team, but IMO they’re not quite as good as last year’s team without Rautins/Wes Johnson………and we get them at home this year.

What's our record on National Marquette Day in the Big East?

I think it’s actually pretty good………unlike our record on Senior Day

Well its official (now more than ever)

Syracuse evil. Must be destroyed.

While Cuse fans don't think much about MU, Jason King of YahooSports does!

In his latest article on the Big East, “All About the Big East: Golden Effort”, Jason has MU sittin at #4 overall! In addition to all of the pub he gives MU, he includes the Louisville game in his “3 to watch” section and describes the game as, “It will only be an upset if the Golden Eagles lose”. WOW! This guy has jumped on the bandwagon to say the least. While we had 4 losses in non-con play, I think the nation realizes that not only were they against ranked teams, but that they were all close games. The simple fact we played everyone tight could give us an advantage if we’re sittin’ on the bubble come Selection Sunday.

This guy's a bigger believer than even I am.

That’s cool though. I agree about our losses. If we’re being compared to a team with more wins, but didn’t play anyone (cough, Cincinnati, cough) I would rather be the one with close losses against top flight competition. People recognize that stuff.

That said, it’s a long, long way to Selection Sunday. Get a nice conference road win Saturday and I’ll be feeling even better.

If we win Saturday (which is really quite possible)

I will be loads more confident about the rest of the season. Plus, our guys can come back to the tasty morsel of DePaul at home. Yummers

If we keep our defense improving and our shot selection is good, we can beat em. The real advantage they have is depth, I think they play 10 guys or somethin like that. I dunno, maybe Im way off on that one

Don't say such things about Depaul........anything can happen in the Big East. Ugh!

And regarding Louisville, Pitino’s teams always seem to go 10 deep. But unlike in years past, they don’t seem to completely “outsize” us. I think we’re 2 pretty even teams and it will be a tough game to win in their house.

Post coming in a minute.

I looked at the numbers, and was surprised to see how bad Louisville has been on the boards.

How’s that for a tease?

I’m not smart enough to look at the other stuff and do anything but drool and mumble.
