10.19.11 In Related News: Lousy Non-Conference Opponents Edition

Just like they did against Middle Tennessee State last week, the Marquette volleyball team took an early 1-0 lead against Western Michigan last night in Kalamazoo, MI. But from there, Marquette couldn't get into an offensive rhythm and allowed WMU to hit .355 through the next three sets, leading to a 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-22) win for the Broncos. Ashley Beyer led MU with 19 kills and added 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Ciara Jones' 15 kills leave her 18 short of 1,000 for her career with two home matches coming up this weekend.

Turning to men's soccer, they will try to pick up their 4th straight win against a ranked opponent when they try to stay unbeaten and untied in conference play tonight against the #24 ranked Georgetown Hoyas (8-3-3, 3-2-0) at Valley Fields at 7pm. If the excitement of the game wasn't enough to get you out to the pitch, it's also Bang For Your Buck Night, with $1 hot dogs, drinks, and chips. On top of that, halftime will feature an Angry Birds Challenge for students in attendance. For further explanation, we turn to C. Nortey and Calum Mallace for a demonstration:
