Marquette women's soccer team has already secured a division title. Tonight at 6:30pm Central time in Storrs, Connecticut, the men's soccer team has that same opportunity when they take on the #2 ranked Connecticut Huskies. With the 3 points for a win, Marquette clinches the division title outright, as they already have a 4 point lead on UConn in the standings. If Marquette and UConn play to a draw, the lone point from a tie will be enough to clinch at least a share of the Blue Division title.
Marquette will look to use the Blue Division's best scoring offense to break through the nation's best scoring defense to earn their first win all time against Connecticut. The Huskies are 6-0-1 against Marquette, but that lone tie came last year at Valley Fields. Husky keeper Andre Blake has turned his .922 save percentage on the year into 12 shutouts in 16 games. The UConn offense is powered by Mamadou Diouf's 8 goals, which are good enough for 4th best in the Big East. Tony Cascio is tied with MU's Calum Mallace and Georgetown's Steve Neumann for 2nd in the conference in assists with 6.
You can listen to Matt Trebby call the game on Marquette Radio live, free, and streaming here. Live stats for the match will be available here.
