Sophomore Taylor Madigan scored her second golden goal of the season and sixth game winner off of a Lisa Philbin cross in the 97th minute to give #12/#19 Marquette a 1-0 overtime win over Toledo in the opening round of the 2011 NCAA College Cup on Saturday night. The win advances Marquette to a second round match with regional #4 seed Penn State, which will be hosted by Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, on Friday, November 18 at 4pm Central time.

Marquette grabbed control early on, registering 3 shots in the first 17 minutes before Toledo got in what would be their only shot of the first half. Marquette ended up outshooting Toledo, 14-3, and Toledo was held without a shot after the 65 minute mark.

Keeper Natalie Kulla recorded her 11th clean sheet of the season and her 43rd career shutout, moving her within one of the all time NCAA record. Kulla only needed to make one save in the match, that one coming on the Rockets' last shot of the match.

Maegan Kelly was awarded an assist on the game winner for her 39th point of the season. The point and the win move Marquette to 23-0-0 all time when Kelly records a point.
