The good news is that with sweeps of Notre Dame and DePaul, Marquette's women's volleyball team secured 12 Big East wins and and a tie for 2nd place in the Big East, both of which are the best results in program history.
The bad news is that Louisville and Cincinnati both won the two matches they played this weekend, so there was no movement in the Big East standings. Louisville won the regular season title at 13-1 while Marquette made that aforementioned tie with Cincinnati for 2nd at 12-2. Due to head to head tiebreakers, Cincinnati takes the 2 seed in the Big East Tournament and Marquette gets the 3. That gives Marquette a first round matchup in the Big East Tournament this Friday in the Al McGuire Center at 6pm against Seton Hall.
