Women's Basketball Game 13: Marquette vs. Vermont

Stay connected for news and updates

The last non-conference home game of the season starts today at noon as Marquette (7-5, 0-1 Big East) takes on Vermont (6-4). The game starts at noon because of Marquette's annual Milwaukee Public Schools game. As usual, the game will be streamed on GoMarquette.com with Kent Sommerfeld and Kyle Dlabay on the call.

This game is the sixth game in an eight game string away from home for Vermont, with losses coming in the last three. Junior center Lauren Buschmann leads the Catamounts in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.5 points and 7.7 rebounds. Buschmann is one of three Vermont players to start all 10 of their games, joined by junior guard Shanai Heber and freshman forward Niki Taylor. All three of the regular Catamount starters average over 6 rebounds per game.

Marquette and Vermont have played just one time before. Marquette defeated Vermont 68-19 last season, setting a record low in points allowed for the Golden Eagles.
