Around SBN: Chan Sung Jung Wins Thriller Over Dustin Poirier

An Anonymous Eagle Podcast? Eh, Why Not: Third Time's the Charm

We had to make up for lost time this week: we surveyed the wreckage of Marquette's win over South Florida in the Thunderdome; post-mortemed the loss to Georgetown (and wondered why, exactly, fans think Coach Buzz should be spending practice time working on free throws); previewed the Red Storm on the horizon; talked about Jim Burr's Jazz Hands and The (Alleged) Spit Heard 'Round the Twitter; and watched in awe as Warrior Brad presented his Bubble Carnage.  This one's only going to be relevant for a few more hours, so get it while it's hot.

As always: we apologize in advance.

The link to the Podbean broadcast is below.  I'm pretty sure this thing is available on iTunes now, too.  (Rubie: 1, Steve Jobs: 0.)

Brad's Bubble Carnage was lengthy.

I’m not smart enough to look at the other stuff and do anything but drool and mumble.

It's a good rant though.

We all have to chase one rabbit. If we try to chase two rabbits we won't catch either of 'em.

Managed to get through it all

And while I had answers to some of your questions, they eventually became victims of the extreme length of your program and my brain damage. So a few comments:

1. Nice breakdown of the bubble Warrior Brad. I think we all agree that we’re pretty safe in that respect as it stands now and that our destiny is definitely in our hands, but it starts tonight. If we drop a home game to St. Johns we could very well be tetering off the edge. Which leads me to my second comment.

2. St. Johns – I describe them as a less talented Louisville……meaning, they thrive on hustle, creating turnovers, and riding big waves of momentum. They also don’t shoot particularly well, so it’s in MU’s best interest to give up the long jumper before the penetration to the basket. All that said, MU wins if A) they take care of the basketball, B)shoots a reasonably well %, and C) hustles back on defense to force StJohns to get into a half court offense rather than allowing easy transition buckets

On a completely different and angry note......my DirecTV signal went out yesterday!

And they will not send out a technician until I troubleshoot with them over the phone…….which can’t happen when I’m at work……which can’t happen until this evening……which means, no viewing of the game tonight……then we’re going to Iowa, to Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York…..then we’re going to Washington to take over the White House! Whaaaaaaaaaa!

Whew! That felt good

You don't get ESPN3?

Will Florida St.'s bubble soon burst?

Chris Singleton, the team’s leading scorer and rebounder, fractured his foot and will miss significant time. Can only help MU if they don’t close well down the stretch.

Agreed - they are one to watch

But their win over Duke has a nice shelf life.

I listened to Gottlieb & Katz discuss FSU

They raised the point that the committee never drops teams out because of injuries, only adjusts their seeds.

What if the team was last 4 in?

Restoring carousel. Come help.

Yeah, that's garbage

Remember MU 2 years ago when Dom went down? MU didn’t get any favors from the committee.

We actually got a good draw

A 6 seed was quite a nice draw against an iffy 11 seed in Utah State
