From the "I Learned Something Today" files: Have you ever actually SEEN a real life golden eagle before? I hadn't until Tuesday, and DAMN -- this thing was less a bird than it was a griffin. It was at least ten feet tall, its beak looked like a giant santoku knife, and its keepers were feeding it a mixture of whole goats, gin, and jalapenos. You can continue debating the nickname thing if you wish. I ain't questioning the chops of this bird again.
