Calum Mallace Drafted By Montreal Impact!
With the 1st pick of the second round (20th overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, Montreal Impact have selected 2011 Big East Midfielder Of The Year and Marquette's own Calum Mallace!
ESPN's Alexi Lalas said that Mallace was "at the top of everyone's list" when it came to defensive minded midfielders available in the draft.
Montreal is an expansion franchise in MLS for the 2012 season. They'll start their inaugural season on March 10 against Vancouver. You can follow Montreal on Twitter here. As an expansion team, their SB Nation blog isn't running quite yet, but I can tell you now that it will be named Mount Royal Soccer, so keep your eyes open for them for all your Calum Mallace news!
