Lose to an unranked team, fall in the national polls.
This week, following the beatdown that Vanderbilt issued, Marquette tumbled in the polls again. This time, they slipped from 13th and 14th to 20th in both the AP and USA Today/ESPN poll.
Marquette is the 5th of the five Big East teams that are ranked in this week's polls, coming in behind Syracuse, Connecticut, Louisville, and Georgetown. The good news is that Marquette gets a great opportunity to jump back up the polls by playing Syracuse and Georgetown this week. The bad news is that both of those games are on the road.
