I Miss Todd Rosiak
I'll admit I haven't read much of Tom Enlund's work in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this season. Between being able to watch most of the games and listening to the podcasts that the athletic department puts up from Buzz's post game press conferences, I don't have much desire to track down a newspaper and read what's in it about Marquette. But yesterday, I came across a copy of the sports section and thought I'd check out what Enlund wrote about the South Florida game.
And then I got four paragraphs in.
Largest margin of victory? Let me put it this way: No, no, no, no, no, and no.
Y'know what? I'm willing to overlook this. I'm sure this is a simple editing error. There was some cutting and pasting, a little rearranging going on, and somehow, the phrase "in Big East play" disappeared into the ether. There. No-Prize issued, I've got it all solved.
THE LAST SCORE GAME. So no one's editing this thing, either. Never mind. I tried. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. This is the same crew of jokers that caused this to pop up on the #mubb stream on Twitter 53 minutes after I stood in the BC and posted a tweet about the final score:
Please come back, Todd! Some of us don't care about any other Wisconsin sports and miss your quality work on the Marquette beat!

To be fair:
the inaccurate “largest margin of victory” thing appeared in the MU post-game notes after the USF game, too.
Not that that should excuse the JS from whiffing on that error, too, but at least we know where they got the bad info from.
We pull our pants up and do our jobs here.
Reading Enlund
Makes me realize how lucky we were to have Todd covering us. And I don’t mean that as a knock on Tom. There’s nothing wrong with what he writes, but it’s just ordinary. Todd is exceptional.

I think we knew how lucky we were
It also seemed like Rosiak genuinely enjoyed covering the program, whereas Enlund appears to have been given a job that he doesn’t have a ton of interest in.
Other than covering UWM, what is Tom’s background? Maybe he’s cut from the same mold of Potrykus and simply has a distaste for our University.
A brief update
Rosiak replied to the tweet with the link to this post and said that he’s heard that Enlund’s going to be getting on Twitter soon.
Restoring carousel. Come help.
Seriously...
The Journal Sentinal coverage of Marquette is a joke nowadays. This new guy writes with as much passion as a kumquat. Even if Rosiak didn’t give a rats’ heinie about Marquette, his articles convinced me that he was a fan. We might as well have a seventh grader writing right now.
Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.
