Two Marquette players earned a spot on the Big East's Weekly Honor Roll for their sport based on how they played last week. First up, Marquette senior midfielder Ally Miller grabbed a spot after Marquette's 2-0 week. While Miller didn't directly factor into any of MU's five goals against St. John's and Syracuse, she did play a key factor in the Golden Eagles preventing both teams to register a goal. Miller was also named a finalist for the Senior CLASS award. The award is partially decided by fan voting, so get your browser pointed here and vote for Miller every day.
Moving on to volleyball, senior outside hitter Danielle Carlson also made the Weekly Honor Roll. Carlson committed just three errors in 81 attack attempts last week, including an error free 14 kill performance against Western Michigan. She was her usual accurate self as well, hitting .444 for the week. I continue to be impressed with how Carlson has maintained her accuracy this season. Last year, with Ciara Jones and Ashley Beyer, it was probably a little easier for Carlson to be amongst the conference's leaders in hitting percentage. This year, teams know how accurate she can be and she has to be a focus of their defensive efforts, but it hasn't mattered even a bit.
