Danielle Carlson looks to continue her strong play against UWM. - MarquetteImages.com
Marquette takes a break from the Big East schedule to play a non-conference "road" match against UWM.
Danielle Carlson takes her brand new Big East Player Of The Week award across town tonight as Marquette faces off with UW-Milwaukee. The match is at the Klotsche Center starting at 7pm, but if you can't make it, you can catch it on Time Warner Sports 32. Matt Menzl and Michelle Griffin-Wenzel will call the action.
This is the second time this season that Marquette and UWM have faced off. The first time was part of the Marquette Invitational. Marquette came out the victor in that match by a margin of 3-1. UWM currently sits at 8-15 overall and have won just three of their ten matches since the first outing against Marquette. Part of the reason for their slide can be attributed to losing starting setter Kayla Price for the season after she suffered a hand injury in the match against Marquette.
Sophomore Julie Kolinske is clearly the Panthers' most important player. She's the primary weapon for the Panthers, averaging 3.8 kills per set, but she also averages more than 3 digs per set. Fellow sophomore Rachel Neuberger is the most dangerous attacker, landing just short of 30% of her attacks for kills.
