Seven weeks after verbally committing to Marquette and Buzz Williams, John Dawson became the second signed recruit for the fall of 2013, as reported by Marquette's men's basketball Twitter account.

Dawson is a 6'2", 190 lb. guard who helped guide Clovis (NM) High School to the state semifinals in his junior year, where he registered 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists as Clovis was knocked out of the tournament. Dawson is the least heralded recruit that's verbally committed to Marquette, but he does have a reputation as a outside shooter, something that's lacking on the current Golden Eagles squad.

Dawson joins Whitefish Bay Dominican's Duane Wilson on the list of officially signed recruits.
