Women's Basketball: Big East Championship Second Round

With their win in the last game of the first round of the Big East Championship yesterday, Marquette was the only disturbance in the chalk of the Big East Championship. The three other higher seeds - #9 South Florida, #10 Villanova and #12 Syracuse - defeated their opponents in the first round.

Marquette advances to a second round game against #6 seed and #23/19 in the country Rutgers. The game will be streamed on BigEast.TV and ESPN3.com at 7pm Central.

These two teams faced off in the regular season finale, with the Scarlet Knights coming out ahead 69-58. Arlesia Morse, Katie Young, and Katherine Plouffe all scored in double digits in that game in Piscataway. Can the return of Apiew Ojulu to the lineup be the difference in a neutral site game in the Big East Championship? The winner will move on to what amounts to a road game against #3 seed Connecticut in the quarterfinals.
