The Big East announced the first weekly awards of the men's soccer season yesterday. Marquette junior defender Eric Pothast was honored for his efforts last week by being included on the Weekly Honor Roll. Pothast contributed to both of the game winning goals in Marquette's first two matches of the season with an assist on Sebastian Jansson's miracle ball against UWM and scoring the only goal of the match against UWGB.
In addition to league honors, Pothast earned recognition from two other outlets as well. Top Drawer Soccer included him on their Team Of The Week and College Sports Madness tabbed him as the Big East Player Of The Week. A tip of the hat to GoMarquette.com to pointing those two out for us.
Marquette returns to action on Friday night in the Valley against UIC.
