The news of the capture comes to us from Marquette associate athletic director Mike Broeker:

There's not a single word of that tweet that's not awesome.
Of course, this does raise the issue of whether Broeker is being honest about how the bat was captured. I present to you this GIF, providing clear visual evidence that there was more to the situation than just playing Thunderstruck:
