The man of many nicknames adds an accolade to the pile.
Davante Gardner was named to the Big East Honor Roll for his part in Marquette's two wins over Connecticut and Georgetown last week.
The junior big man averaged 15 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in the two games. Gardner did all that with an outstanding shooting touch: 60% from the field and just short of automatic from the free throw line at 18 out of 20.
Ox also picked up the GoMarquette.com Student Athlete of the Week award, as per usual when a Marquette athlete ends up with a Big East weekly award.
