New Marquette head men's basketball coach Steve Wojociechowski was in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, on Thursday night to see Nick Noskowiak work out and then visit the high school junior at his home.
According to Jason Galloway of the Wisconsin State Journal, the visit went very well.
After an in-home visit from new Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski on Thursday night, Sun Prairie junior Nick Noskowiak appears even more impressed with the direction the Golden Eagles’ program could take in the coming years.
"I really, really like Coach Wojciechowski," Noskowiak said. "Everything he had to say I absolutely loved. I love the direction that he’s going to put Marquette in. I could definitely see myself playing for him. I’m really looking forward to building a better relationship with (him).
"I’m kind of waiting to see how (my recruitment) all plays out, but I’d definitely say (Marquette is) at the top of my list."
...
"He sees me as a decision maker on the court," Noskowiak said. "When watching me work out today, he said he saw a lot of himself in me when he played point guard for Duke. But above everything, he saw in me the ability to make my teammates better."
I can't blame the kid for not renewing his verbal commitment immediately just because he was impressed with one visit with Wojciechowski. There's no benefit for him for doing so, and he can't sign a national letter of intent until this coming November anyway. There's no hurry for him to make a decision about where he wants to attend college, especially after electing to reopen things just last week.
Galloway also reports that Noskowiak has picked up offers from Illinois, Creighton, and Xavier and is expected to have an in-home visit from MU's Big East rivals in Ohio today. But, if the rumors coming from Berkeley are to be believed, maybe that visit won't actually happen.
