Ally Miller shows she can affect the game on both ends by following up her preseason Big East Defensive Player Of The Year award by scoring the exhibition game winner for Marquette against Wisconsin.
AD Larry Williams states that the possible violation involves the men's basketball program and has been brought to the NCAA's attention, but can not comment further. Rubie sez: Andrei Greska at Paint Touches writes that the possible violation is believed to involve recruiting but doesn't appear to be a major violation. So: light treason, then. h/t to Paint Touches

The GoMarquette.com Mailbag series continues with a Q&A with Athletic Director Larry Williams. Believe it or not, there's actual news contained in the Mailbag. Williams states that the women's lacrosse team will play "a full Big East slate" of games in their first season of competition. Based on last year's schedule, that would be one game against each of the other nine teams. All nine of those contests will be non-conference games, though, as Marquette will not begin their Big East membership until the 2014 season. Williams says that the men's lacrosse team will play "a good number" of Big East teams, but with only seven schools participating in men's lacrosse, it's hard to say how many that is. He also says the men's team will host a nationally recognized program. Wild swing in the dark: Hofstra, the alma mater of head coach Joe Amplo?
