An intersquad scrimmage will get started tonight at 7pm.
Yeah, that's right: I'm linking to our own tweet on the topic. Anyway: word is that Michael Hunt is taking over the Marquette beat at the Journal Sentinel, replacing Tom Enlund (and before him, the irreplaceable Todd Rosiak). The move will leave the Journal Sentinel without a general sports columnist, which is kind of stunning, when you think about it. Oh, right: insert joke about his name here.
Marquette announced the slate of exhibition matches that the women's lacrosse team will play this fall. This will be the first organized competition for the squad against other teams before they begin the regular season in the spring. Two highlights on the schedule: a home game against Grand Valley State on Saturday, September 29, and a road game against seven time and current defending NCAA champion Northwestern on October 17th.

For the second consecutive year, Marquette will be the host for the Big East's season ending volleyball tournament. Pitt was supposed to be the host, but as it turns out, when you're leaving the conference in 10 months, the conference tends to not let you have nice things.
