Chandler Hallwood named Big East Goalkeeper of the Week
Here's how Marquette wrote it up: Senior Chandler Hallwood was named the league's Goalkeeper of the Week for his performance against Xavier on Saturday. In the lone game he played last week, Hallwood earned the clean sheet as he held the Musketeers off the score sheet for the first time this season and helped MU earn its first road point over a nationally-ranked squad since 2014. He faced 17 shots in the contest, making four saves. This is his second Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season, and the fourth of his career. In addition to Hallwood's major award, Alex Mirsberger was included on the Weekly Honor Roll. Here's the MU explanation: Senior defender Alex Mirsberger was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a massive three-goal performance against Milwaukee on Tuesday and anchoring the Marquette defense to a clean sheet on the road against No. 19 Xavier on Saturday. Scoring all three goal in the first 33 minutes against Milwaukee, he became the first Marquette player to have a hat trick since 2011 and the first defender in all of NCAA Division I to have a hat trick since 2019.
