11.2.11 In Related News: Weekly Honors

It's a short week for awards this week, as only the women's volleyball team received honors. Leading things off is Chelsea Heier, who earned her 4th Big East Freshman of the Week award on the season. Heier averaged 12.83 assists in Marquette's two matches over the weekend, including 42 against Pittsburgh to push the Golden Eagles to a .396 team hitting percentage, which is their highest team mark this season. Her 11.67 assists/set mark has Heier ranked 11th in the country and makes her the best setter in the Big East.

Also picking up a nod from the Big East is Danielle Carlson, who was named to the Big East Honor Roll for the third time this season. The junior middle hitter registered kills at a 3.17/set clip while hitting .545 in the matches against Pittsburgh and West Virginia. Her hitting percentage continues to lead the conference and rank 19th nationally.

Marquette returns to action this weekend with a road swing to Cincinnati and Louisville.
