Marquette Bubble Watch February 24 Edition

It was another great night for Marquette's bubble positioning.  The mediocrity filled bubble lived up to its reputation with plenty of bad performances.  Alabama almost lost to a historically bad Auburn team.  BC failed to show up at home.  The CAA continued to eat its own, with Drexel taking down VCU.  If MU can pull off the win tonight, they are in very good position relative to the other teams on the bubble (had to slip in a Buzz-ism).

Aub

The basketball gods were not happy with this slugfest.  Four Auburn players fouled out and Bama won on a last second tip-in after trailing by 12 in the second half.

Baylor

Baylor's slide continues.  Their last 3 games (A&M, @OSU, Texas) give them opportunities, but they need to turn it around in a hurry

Missouri

 77

Miami

 73

Yet another damaging loss for a bubble team.  Miami led by 21 at the half.  BC has a limited opportunity to impress with their remaining schedule - @UVa, @VT, Wake

Cincinnati is now in very good shape after their huge win on the road.  They are probably a lock at this point.

CSU stayed close, but couldn't pull it off despite 7 turnovers from Jimmer.  The Rams close out at SDSU, so they still have an opportunity for a huge win

BYU

FSU

 62

Boy, does FSU miss Chris Singleton or what?  Maryland may be positioning themselves for bubble run at this point.  FSU's next two are huge - home against both Miami and UNC

UMD

No magic this time for the Huskers.  Too much Jacob Pullen and too many turnovers and mental errors.  KSU is now in very good shape.  Nebraska probably has to win out - @ISU, Mizz, @CU

Neb

UTEP

 76

UTEP is practically circling the drain after losing two games already this week.  What did I say about Minges Coliseum?

ECU

 83

VCU

 60

Don't look now, but the Dragons may be playing themselves into the field.  This is a damaging loss for VCU and they may need to win the CAA tourney to get into the field.  The CAA is good!

Drexel

Creigh

Disaster averted for Wichita State.  They play at Missouri St next for the MVC title.

MU could get a double bump. A UWM win would hurt CSU and up MU’s RPI
