While spending some of my Lazy Sunday winding about the internet, I noticed that Marquette continued to announce non-conference basketball games over the weekend. More importantly, they announced that YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles will be traveling to Madison to face the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, December 3rd. That means we can officially start gearing up for this year's installment of Badger Hate Week. Since that's a Saturday, Badger Hate Week will kick off on the previous Sunday, November 27th. Our apologies in advance to the Jacksonville Dolphins, as their contest with Marquette on November 28th will be enveloped in Badger Hate Week. That went poorly for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last year, as they got stomped by 36 points.
The Badgers were yesterday's announcement, by the way. Today's announcement was Marquette's participation in the 2011 Jimmy V Classic in Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, December 6th. The opponent will be the Washington Huskies, whom we all remember managing to escape a Lazar Hayward prayer at the buzzer in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
