Today we introduce a new feature here at Anonymous Eagle. From consulting the schedules, it appears that the men's and women's soccer teams along with the women's volleyball team play an awful lot of games on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. So, to keep you up to speed with what's going on, we'll be providing a Weekend Preview of that weekend's activities. I bet you can guess what this means for Mondays, too.

Starting things up first is the two time defending Big East American Division Champion women's soccer team with two matches over the weekend. Coach Markus Roeders's squad follows up a 2-0 exhibition win over Wisconsin (and boy, is it fun to say "win over Wisconsin," regardless of the sport) by opening their regular season schedule against Western Michigan on Friday night at 7:30pm at Valley Fields. The Broncos return 16 players from a team that went 11-7-5 and made an appearance in the MAC tournament championship game. This will be the season opener for WMU as well, with an exhibition 2-2 draw against Valpariso being their only action so far this season.

The homestand continues with a match against Northwestern at Valley Fields on Sunday at 7:30pm. The Wildcats are looking to get a boost from 10 freshmen this season and improve on last year's 6-10-3 record. It should be noted that Northwestern is no stranger to upsets of top teams like #12 Marquette, having managed to knock off #3 UCLA last season. This game will be Northwestern's regular season opener. They split their exhibition games with a 2-0 win over DePaul and a loss to UW-Milwaukee.
