Marquette (10-6, 1-2 Big East) looks to even their Big East record tonight at the Al McGuire Center when they take on Villanova (11-4, 2-1) at 8pm. It's $2 Tuesday, so general admission tickets are $2. For those of you who can't make it down to campus, the game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network with James Bates and Tammy Blackburn calling the action.
The Wildcats come in alternating wins and losses in their last 4 games with their last outing ending in a loss at West Virginia. Junior forward Laura Sweeney is the only player who averages in double digits in points for the Wildcats, but her 15.6 per game is good enough for 8th best in the Big East. What Sweeney does even better than score is rebound, where she averages 8.3 per game, 4th best in the Big East.
Marquette looks to take advantage of a confident Katie Young to spark the team off the bench. Young scored 18 points on 6-9 shooting and grabbed 5 rebounds last Saturday against Seton Hall to earn her the honor of GoMarquette.com Student Athlete Of The Week.
