We bring you a slightly abbreviated Big Five this week. Less than 2 hours to tip off of Marquette-Louisville by the time you read this, so let's get going! Honorable mention for this week goes to tonight's Syracuse-Pittsburgh game, because Syracuse hasn't beaten PItt since 2006.
Today: #23/21 Louisville at #21/22 Marquette (2:30pm Central, ESPN) - UGH. The only thing that makes this game more intense is when both teams are ranked. For those of you newer Marquette fans, our friends at Card Chronicle dug up the 10 most memorable Marquette-Louisville games of all time.
Wednesday, January 18: Cincinnati at #13/11 Connecticut (6pm, ESPN2) - The Bearcats look to solidify their hold on 2nd place in the Big East while the Huskies try to drag Cincy down into the pile of 2 loss teams.
Wednesday, January 18: West Virginia vs Marshall (in Charleston, WV, 6:30pm, ESPN3) - I'm not quite sure why this is a neutral court game, but there it is. Marshall's currently undefeated in Conference USA and would be a solid win for the Mountaineers.
Saturday, January 21: #13/11 Connecticut at Tennessee (3pm, CBS) - No, I'm not kidding. Yes, the Vols are currently 8-9, but they recently upset Florida on their home floor and gave Kentucky a fight there as well. It's not outside the realm of possibility for the Huskies to get pushed by the Fightin' Jeronne Maymons.
Saturday, January 21: #1/1 Syracuse at Notre Dame (5pm, ESPN) - I'm guessing that the surprising Irish are going to be huge Syracuse fans tonight, just to avoid a pissed off Orange team rolling into South Bend with something to prove. This would be a huge W for Notre Dame either way.
