Marquette Women's Basketball Game 20: Marquette vs Providence

Marquette participates in an exchange program of sorts with Providence tonight. While the men's basketball teams will face off in the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Rhode Island, the women's basketball teams go head to head back in Milwaukee and the Al McGuire Center. Game time is 7pm. It's Youth Night at the Al, as general admission tickets for all kids in 8th grade or younger are just $2. For those of you from out of town, GoMarquette.com will carry a live video stream of the game with Kyle Dlabay and Armen Saryan on the call.

Providence (10-9, 2-4 Big East) finishes off a 2 game road swing with this game. They've been alternating wins and losses since the Big East season started in earnest, with the Friars' last game ending in a 64-48 loss at the hands of the Louisville Cardinals. Although they pulled a home upset over #20/18 DePaul back on January 7th, scoring has been a problem for the Friars this season. They're last in the Big East in points per game, field goal percentage and free throw percentage. To make it worse, Providence is also last in field goal percentage defense. Senior forward Teya Wright is the dominant statistical force for the Friars, nearly averaging a double double with 12.7 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. That rebounding average for Wright leads the Big East by 1.2 rebounds per game over DePaul's Katharine Harry.
