Apparently the NCAA is fan of Jesuit-on-Jesuit violence in the NCAA tournament.

The NCAA announced the field for the 2012 NCAA Women's Volleyball tournament earlier today, and to no one's surprise, your Marquette Golden Eagles are easily in the tournament after finishing 27-6 overall and second in the Big East. MU's first round opponent will be Creighton.

The Bluejays come in with a record of 28-3, including their last 16 straight. Creighton won both the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles, a feat that they have never accomplished before. Three Bluejays were named to the All-MVC First Team, including Player Of The Year Megan Bober and Defensive Player Of The Year Kelli Browning.

The Marquette-Creighton match will be in Minneapolis and hosted by the University of Minnesota. The Golden Gophers earned the 8th overall seed in the tournament and the winner of MU-CU will move on to face the winner of Minnesota-Liberty on Saturday night.

We leave you with reactions from Danielle Carlson, Holly Mertens, and head coach Bond Shymansky:
