When we last saw the Golden Eagles, Katherine Plouffe, Chelsie Butler, and Cristina Bigica were whistled for their third fouls in rapid fire succession with 16 minutes left in the game and Marquette holding a 17 point lead over Toledo. Things quickly turned from there, and the Rockets ended up with a 11 point win.
It's an afternoon contest against Navy at noon today, as Marquette hosts their annual Milwaukee Public Schools game. Over 3000 students from MPS will be in attendance for the game, so hopefully they will get treated to a win as well. If you're looking for some lunchtime entertainment, you can catch the game streaming on GoMarquette.com with Kent Sommerfeld on the call.
Navy has alternated wins and losses in their last four games, with a road loss to Mount St. Mary's in their last outing. Sophomore Chloe Stapleton made her season debut two games ago and immediately threw up a career high 20 points in her first game. Junior Jade Geif leads a trio of players who have played in all 11 of Navy's games and average in double digits in scoring. Geif also leads the Midshipmen in rebounding at 8.2 per contest.
