Women's Basketball Game 24: Marquette vs NR/22 DePaul

Marquette heads down I-94 today for a match up with the DePaul Blue Demons. The game will be carried live on ESPN2 (well, kind of) at 1:30 pm Central with Beth Mowins changing from Marquette's men's team yesterday to calling the action for the women's team today along side Brooke Weisbrod.

Like Marquette's game against Pittsburgh, this game is part of the Play 4 Kay Initiative. DePaul's website preview says that both teams will be wearing "pink infused uniforms." It seems unlikely that the unis that Marquette wore against Pittsburgh will work against DePaul, so we'll see what Marquette has cooked up for a road game.

DePaul (18-7, 6-5 Big East) comes into this game struggling with 5 losses in their last 9 games. The downside for Marquette is that only 1 of those losses came in Chicago and that one was to Connecticut. DePaul has lost 5 players to injury, leading to head coach Doug Bruno referring to his seven player rotation as "The Magnificent Seven" back on January 14th after a win over Pittsburgh. Only leading scorer Anna Martin and leading rebounder Katherine Harry have started more than 25 games in their careers.

Marquette (13-10, 4-6 Big East) goes into McGrath-Phillips Arena looking for a boost to their post-season hopes after snapping a 4 game losing streak in their last game against Pittsburgh. Arlesia Morse had a career high 24 points to lead the Golden Eagles in that game and Katherine Plouffe had her 9th double-double of the season with 19 points and a career high 15 rebounds.
