WOO! Marquette Gets A 3 Seed In The West Region

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Committee has finished their work.

YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles have been slotted as a 3 seed in the West Region. Their first opponent will be a winner of a First Four game on Tuesday between 14 seeds BYU and Iona. Marquette will play the winner of that game at a time to be determined on Thursday in Louisville. I suspect that this First Four game was shoved to a 14 seed to slot into a game on Thursday to make sure that BYU didn't have to play on Sunday.

The winner of Marquette's game will move on to the third round of the NCAA tournament to face off against the winner of 6 seed Murray State and 11 seed Colorado State.
