Your Wednesday Play-In Game Open Thread

We all know who we're cheering for tonight, right? It's South Florida, because we get to share in the NCAA tournament money they earn for each appearance. Yep. Definitely the money. Mmmhmmm.
We all know who we're cheering for tonight, right? It's South Florida, because we get to share in the NCAA tournament money they earn for each appearance. Yep. Definitely the money. Mmmhmmm.

Last night's games featured a furious comeback by Western Kentucky to defeat Mississippi Valley State and a historic comeback by BYU to overcome a 25 point deficit to defeat Iona. I don't know if we will get that kind of action in tonight's games, but given how South Florida crushes the number of possessions in a game down to as small as possible, odds are we'll have some drama by the end of that game.

The 16 seed game tonight features the Pat Knight rant fueled Southland champion Lamar Cardinals (23-11) taking on the America East champion Vermont Catamounts (23-11) at 5:40pm Central time. Approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of that game, the Sun Doll inspired South Florida Bulls (20-13) make their first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 20 years when they take on the California Golden Bears (24-9). Both games will be televised on truTV with Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkel on the call.
