Who wants to go to Phoenix next weekend?
Buzz Williams and crew, that's who!
In a game that was up and down and quite physical, Marquette battled on the floor with Murray State, America's Sweetheart Team, and the local fans of the Kentucky Wildcats up in the stands, who turned it into an absolute home game for the Racers.
But after a first half where they both struggled, Darius Johnson-Odom and Jae Crowder MANNED UP in the second half and led Marquette to a 9 point win. Both seniors ended up with 17 points and Crowder finished with his 5th straight double double, adding 13 rebounds.
Marquette advances to the Sweet 16, where they will play in the regional semifinals on Thursday against the winner of tomorrow's game between Florida and - wait for it - Norfolk State.
This is the first time that Marquette has been to consecutive Sweet 16s since they did so in 1976 and 1977.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to celebrate like a crazy person, so the recap might have to wait until tomorrow.
WE ARE MARQUETTE!
