Marquette took control late in the first half and never let go. Georgetown repeatedly cut the lead to single digits, but Marquette answered the bell every single time. It was exactly the kind of performance you wanted to see from your team on the last time you'd be able to watch them in person for the season.
Jae Crowder scored 26 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, snagged five steals and was rewarded with chants of "M-V-P" in the closing moments of the game and during the Senior Day festivities. Fellow senior Darius Johnson-Odom chipped in a nice all-around performance with 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Davante Gardner made his return to action for the first time in over a month and while he seemed to favor his leg, he showed no signs of rust going about scoring 8 points and snaring 8 rebounds in just 15 minutes of play.
Long form recap will be coming later, but for now, your comments are always welcome below.
