Following the trip to Hawaii for the Maui Invitational, Marquette will take Thanksgiving weekend off and return to action on Monday, November 26 at the Bradley Center. The athletic department announced this morning that the opponent on that day will be the University of Maryland Baltimore County, or as it's more commonly known, UMBC.

Let's hit the important info, courtesy of GoMarquette.com:

2011-12 Record: 4-26
2011-12 Conference Record: 3-13 (8th place in America East)
Final KenPom.com ranking: 339th

And a quick writeup as well:

The Retrievers return leading scorer Chase Plummer (15.4 points/game) in 2012-13 and will face Marquette at the Bradley Center on Monday, Nov. 26. UMBC redshirt junior forward Jamar Wertz was a high school teammate of Marquette’s Davante Gardner at King’s Fork High School in Suffolk, Va.

339 out of 345 Division 1 teams. Oof. The important thing to remember is that Marquette has surrounded 3 home games against teams that finished 300+ in the 2011-12 KenPom rankings with high profile events in the Battleship game with Ohio State, the Maui Invitational, and the previously announced game on November 29th at Florida as part of the SEC-Big East Challenge.

One final note on this game, and this one comes from loyal reader @BBaranowski. The game against UMBC will mark the Bradley Center debut of former Marquette signee Brett Roseboro. Roseboro went to St. Bonaventure after being released from his commitment to the Golden Eagles before transferring to UMBC. He sat out last year due to NCAA transfer rules and this coming season will be his first in a Retrievers uniform.
