Anthony Selvaggi wasted no time in making a statement to little brother David as to who is the better soccer player in the family in last night's match between Anthony's Marquette Golden Eagles and David's DePaul Blue Demons. Marquette's Selvaggi rammed home a Sebastian Jansson cross just 55 seconds into the match to give his squad what turned into the game winner, as Marquette (8-0-0, 1-0-0) downed DePaul (2-5-0, 0-1-0) by the final score of 5-0.

All five of Marquette's goals came before intermission. John Pothast was the second Golden Eagle to get on the board, registering his first goal of his Marquette career in the 17th minute. Adam Lysak added a diving header six minutes later off a Bryan Ciesiulka cross and then turned around and made a cross for Jansson to score on in the 34th minute. Kelmend Islami wrapped up the scoring for the night 97 seconds after Jansson's goal with his first of the season.

Charlie Lyon made three saves to preserve his fifth clean sheet of the season and first in Big East play.

Up Next: Marquette looks to get their third and final win against in state Division 1 teams this season as they host Wisconsin on Wednesday at 7pm.
