What the what? Marquette is 3-0 to start Big East play? I sure as hell wasn't expecting that. As with the rest of the world, I'm not sure what the team was doing at the end of regulation. But we won in OT, so I won't complain too much. But seriously, how is that the only guy you're not guarding? My biggest takeaway from the game? We're gonna be pretty damn good next year. D Wilson at the point? If Saturday's performance didn't convince you, nothing will. Whatever conference we're in next year, I fully expect us to win it.
Next up, Seton Hall on Wednesday and a Saturday road game at Cincy. Seton Hall is a extremely winnable game. They're 12-5 but after winning at DePaul, they now sit at 1-3 in Big East play and 88th in KenPom ratings. Cincy on the other hand will be a tough matchup. 2-2 in Big East play and currently 18th in KenPom ratings. Marquette current sits at 40 with a 24% chance of winning. In short, going 1-1 this week is completely acceptable.
Make this happen for next season. My hope is by the end of the month, this will be set in stone.
