Last time we checked in with the Golden Eagles... y'know what? Never mind. Let's just forget that happened and focus on the future. Marquette plays tonight against Seton Hall in New Jersey. The game starts at 6pm Central time. You can grab live stats here, or if you want to drop some cash on the Pirates PPV setup, you can head to SHUPirates.com.
Marquette is looking to get back to winning ways after dropping the first two games of their Big East slate, and a two game road swing might hold wins for MU. Their opponents, Seton Hall and Pittsburgh, are a combined 16-15 overall with a 2-3 record in Big East games. After three consecutive strong outings, Sarina Simmons is poised to push past the double digit barrier in scoring to give Marquette three players - Katherine Plouffe and Arlesia Morse are the other two - averaging more than 10 points a game.
As for tonight's opposition, Seton Hall had a three game winning streak snapped in their last outing, a 72-46 loss at St. John's. Sophomore guard Ka-Deidre Simmons has scored in double digits in eight straight games, but her backcourt partner, senior Brittany Morris leads the Pirates in scoring at 12.6 per game. Rebounding is done by committee with this team, as four players average more than three rebounds, led by senior forward Alexandra Maseko.
