Brackets, With A Twist Of The Seven

It's that time of year when people start becoming very concerned with where their favorite college teams are standing in terms of the NCAA tournament.

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

So we're going to round up the finest minds on the subject - SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean, Sports Illustrated's Andy Glockner, CBS Sports' Jerry Palm, and ESPN's Joe Lunardi - and keep you up to speed on how Marquette is doing.

We'll also give you a brief look at how the Big East is doing, and since we're in the middle of starting a new conference, we'll also look at how The Seven and their main rumored partners are doing.

Let's get started, shall we?

SB NATION:
Marquette: Moving up to an 8 seed vs 9 seed St. Louis
Big East: Six teams: Louisville (2), Syracuse (3), Notre Dame (6), Cincinnati (7), Marquette (8), Georgetown (9)
The Seven: Marquette and Georgetown
Rumored Partners: Gonzaga (2), Butler (4), Creighton (4), VCU (6), Saint Louis (9)

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED:
Marquette: 7 seed vs 10 seed Colorado
Big East: Six teams: Louisville (1), Syracuse (2), Georgetown (6), Notre Dame (6), Marquette (7), Cincinnati (8)
The Seven: Marquette and Georgetown
Rumored Partners: Gonzaga (3), Butler (3), Creighton (3), VCU (8), Saint Louis (10)
MU Bubble Watch Blurb:

"Team Bubble Watch" isn't making it easy on their fans, but they never do. A stirring overtime win over Pitt has moved the Golden Eagles to 3-0 in the conference and there are three eminently winnable home games on tap. If they can handle a trip to Cincinnati, Marquette could be 7-0 heading to Louisville on Feb. 3. Then again, that's just not the TBW way, so expect some craziness somewhere.

CBS SPORTS (note: posted on Friday):
Marquette: 10 seed vs 7 seed VCU
Big East: Eight teams: Louisville (1), Syracuse (2), Georgetown (4), Cincinnati (8), Pittsburgh (8), Marquette (10), Notre Dame (11), Rutgers (12)
The Seven: Marquette and Georgetown
Rumored Partners: Gonzaga (2), Creighton (3), Butler (4), VCU (7), Saint Louis (9)

ESPN:
Marquette: Rising to an 8 seed vs 9 seed Oklahoma State
Big East: Seven teams: Louisville (1), Syracuse (2), Cincinnati (5), Notre Dame (5), Marquette (8), Georgetown (10), Pittsburgh (10)
The Seven: Marquette and Georgetown
Rumored Partners: Gonzaga (2), Creighton (3), Butler (4), VCU (6)
