KP Is Getting It Done

No, not Kim Possible. We're talking about Marquette junior forward Katherine Plouffe, as well as previewing tonight's game against Louisville.

Yesterday, Plouffe was named to the Big East Honor Roll for her efforts last week. She nearly averaged a double-double at 13 points and 9.5 rebounds in Marquette's two road wins over Seton Hall and Pittsburgh. She also had a career high eight assists in the Pitt game, leaving her one rebound and two assists short of a triple-double. As is tradition when a MU athlete earns a conference honor, Plouffe was also named the GoMarquette.com Student-Athlete Of The Week.

Marquette gets back to action tonight as they return to the Al McGuire Center to face off with #15/13 Louisville. The game tips off at 8pm, and the late start time is explained by the game being broadcast on CBS Sports Network for all of you out of towners. James Bates and Tammy Blackburn will be calling the action from courtside.

The Cardinals come in with a 15-4 overall record, but are only a half game better than Marquette in the Big East standings at 3-2. Louisville sandblasted Cincinnati in their last game by 39 after dropping a 72-58 loss at Connecticut. Junior guard Shoni Schimmel leads UL in scoring (12.4 ppg) and assists (3.2 apg). Shoni's sister Jude comes off the bench for the Cards and averages 2.8 assists, too. Sophomore Sara Hammond is in charge of the Windex, cleaning the glass of more than six rebounds per game.
