Women's Basketball Game 14: Marquette (8-5) vs Syracuse (12-1)

It's the Big East season opener for both the Golden Eagles and the Orange. Things get started at the Al McGuire Center at 7pm.

It's Dollar Day at the AMC, which means general admission, hot dogs and sodas all for $1. It's also Kids Take Over The Al Day, so the adorability quotient of the game presentation should be up about 1000%. If you can't make it down to the Al, you can watch the action on Time Warner Sports 32 with Steve "The Homer" True and Kareeda Chones-Aguam on the call.

Syracuse comes in on a five game winning streak, but their last loss - the only one of the season for the Orange - also came in their last road game. It's hard to get a read on Syracuse, as they've only had three close games all season. They picked up wins in the San Juan Shootout over Georgia Tech and Virginia and ended up with a loss to Temple. Kayla Alexander is a terror on the the court for Syracuse's opponents. Alexander is second in the Big East in scoring (19.5 ppg), fifth in rebounding (8.4 rpg), and first in blocks (3.6 bpg). Potential bad news for the Golden Eagles: Syracuse leads the Big East in steals at more than 14 per game.
