As news of Jameel McKay's departure was breaking, USA Today released their preseason Top 25 coaches' poll. The good news is that YOUR Marquette Golden Eagles check in at #17. The bad news is that they're the only Big East team in the Top 25.
The medium news is that Marquette has three games scheduled against teams in the preseason top 25. Ohio State starts out at #10, New Mexico sits at #20, and Wisconsin is right behind the Lobos at #21.
For those of you looking to keep track of these kinds of things, there are four former Big East teams on the list: Louisville (#3), Syracuse (#7), Connecticut (#19), and Notre Dame (#22). If you want to count Memphis as a "former" Big East team as they joined but never actually officially played anything in the Big East, they're in there at #13.
