Monday is new poll day in the college basketball world, and today we got our first in-season polls of the 2013-14 season. Marquette maintained their #17 ranking in both the Associated Press media poll and USA Today coaches poll.
It's the same 25 teams listed in the AP poll that were listed in the preseason version. Over on the coaches' side, Baylor is a new addition to the poll at #25, but they made it by virtue of a tie, so no teams dropped out.
There are two items of note in the polls. First, Marquette remains the only ranked Big East team. Second, Ohio State moved up one spot in both polls, up to 10th in the AP poll and #9 in the coaches' poll. The Golden Eagles will play host to the Buckeyes at noon Central on Saturday in the first college basketball game to be broadcast on Fox.
You can find the full rundown of the AP poll here and the USA Today poll here.
