With a bright and shiny 18-3-0 record to go along with their regular season and tournament trophies, Marquette heads into the 2013 NCAA College Cup as a #2 seed. The Golden Eagles are in a region with Virginia as the #1 seed, as well as Michigan and Penn State as the #3 and #4 seeds.

Marquette will play host to Western Michigan in the first round. Right now, the bracket lists every game as on Friday, November 15th, but the first round header clearly says November 15/16, so a final decision on the exact timing of the match is still pending.

Western Michigan (9-5-5, 7-2-2 MAC) earned a spot in the field by winning the MAC conference tournament. Ali Russo scored the winning goal in the 62nd minute to give the Broncos a 1-0 win over Ball State in the championship match.

Elsewhere around the Big East, Georgetown, DePaul, and St. John's all earned at large bids to the field of 64. Georgetown will host La Salle in the first round, while DePaul will travel to Indiana for their first round contest and St. John's heads down south to face off with regional 3 seed UCF.

In addition to the Big East teams, there were six more opponents from Marquette's 2013 schedule that made the field. UCLA and Portland earned regional seeds with a 2 seed and a 3 seed respectively, while Colorado College, Illinois State, Louisville, and UW-Milwaukee all qualified as well. Marquette has a season record of 8-3-0 against teams in the College Cup field.
