But when head coach Buzz Williams tweets things like this, it's safe to say that Satchel Pierce has signed a National Letter of Intent:
@satch1032 I apologize 4the delay. We r thankful & excited 2welcome u to the #mubb family!Im the last 2tweet it, so time 2get back 2work pal

I figure it's safe to say he's signed, but for what it's worth, the athletic department hasn't made an official posting on GoMarquette.com like they did for Sandy Cohen, Ahmed Hill, and Marial Shayok, but I trust Buzz to not make an easy social media mistake.
Pierce is a 7 foot tall center from Akron, Ohio, but he attends The Kiski School in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, a 2.5 hour drive from Akron. MaxPreps.com has him averaging 10.6 points, 17.5 rebounds, and 9.7 blocks in 11 of Kiski's 25 games last season.
The important issue is that Buzz Williams has added a clear center to his recruiting class for next fall, when he will have to find a way to compensate for the departures of traditional centers Chris Otule and Davante Gardner, not to mention Jamil Wilson, who was the starting center for the second of Marquette's current streak of three straight Sweet 16 appearances in the NCAA tournament.
Pierce joins Cohen, Hill, and Shayok in Marquette's recruiting class for the fall of 2014. Malek Harris remains verbally committed to the Golden Eagles, but also remains unsigned, not to mention suspended from the Sandburg High School basketball team for the entirety of his senior season.
And now, a mixtape for Satchel Pierce:
