I mean, SHAZAM.
Michigan State, Kansas, Marquette, Xavier, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Santa Clara, and Rider make up the eight team tournament, and it is going to be bananas. I mean, whatever teams come out of this thing in first, second, and third place are almost guaranteed to walk away with at least one quality win for their NCAA tournament resume, and whoever wins is probably getting two.
When was the last time that Marquette participated in one of these holiday events and you wouldn't complain if you saw various writers picking at least two different teams to win the whole thing?
This will be Marquette's first appearance in the Old Spice Classic since finishing as the runner up to Florida State in 2009. That trip to Walt Disney World was the beginning of Miley Cyrus' 'Party in the USA' becoming Jimmy Butler's official theme song.
